Violinist Colin Jacobsen, recipient of a 2003 Avery Fisher Career Grant, first played to critical acclaim at age fourteen as soloist with the New York Philharmonic under Kurt Masur. His principle teachers have included Louise Behrend, Josef Gingold, Robert Mann, and Vera Beths. Mr. Jacobsen tours regularly with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble and is a member of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s program for young artists, CMS Two. In addition to frequent appearances as soloist with orchestra, he is a regular guest at summer festivals such as the Banff Centre for the Arts, Bravo! Colorado Music Festival, Caramoor International Music Festival, Marlboro Music Festival, and the Salzburg Festival.
